Soil, stabilizer and water – the natural, simple elements of rammed earth structures. In the early 1980’s, when Don & Stan Huston began building rammed earth walls they realized the need for achieving a consistent mixture of soil, stabilizer and water to achieve a smooth, even distribution in the massive walls.  Their research and design yielded Earth One, the prototype of their continuous mixing pug mill. The results – a savings in time and a more consistent mix as both the water and stabilizer are regulated by smaller increments.

Years of improvements and field research culminated in a partnership with William Powell and Sons, producing the Peb 8A.  This state-of-the-art model results in a smooth infusion of soil and stabilizer, assuring an even distribution throughout the walls.
